Design/Build 2023
Location: Lower Springs Park, Near Downtown La Grange and about 30 minutes from Louisville
If you’ve never been to La Grange, take a minute to explore the downtown after your session. Upper springs park is good for the kiddos and there some good places to eat including a Mexican resturant near the train and train graffiti viewing platform. The train goes directly through the downtown and causes big delays in traffic, so skate to downtown or walk from the site- you’ll thank us later.
The site is in the lower portion of Springs Park. Yes, there is a spring and it’s a peek a boo situation where you might find a skatepark builder’s art decorating the spring site. We used the spring as our inspiration for the decorative moments in the park including the stained stamp and creek jump. Artist Matthew McDole added a few painted touches of wildlife commonly found around the woods and the spring.
The park is 9,000 sq ft and includes a flow bowl with a mini ramp, island, roll in, deep end of 7′, and long diamond grind coping straight walls. A street extension extends the length of the site and over the stream in a creek gap.
